We had a very rushed but great time writing our poems for our writing experience for School Kit. We had objects that we wrote interesting WOW (sticky) words for. We used a thesaurus to try to push our vocabulary to be the most interesting we could.
The school we have shared our writing with is called Enner Glyn School in Nelson. We sent an invitation to them to come and check out our blog and answer some of the questions we have about their school life in Sunny Nelson. Hopefully as a class they can answer our questions in the comment box below...
Here they are:
1. What is it like having a school uniform?
2. How do you like being able to buy your school lunch?
3. What is Rabbit Island about? Does it have heaps of rabbits?
4. Is Best Island really the best island?
5. Is it loud being close to the airport?
6. How many classrooms do you have? How many students in your school?
7. Is your teacher and principal nice? (haha)
8. What is the most fun thing you have done/learnt this year at school?
9. What year does your school go up to?
10. Do you have an action plan for if you have a tsunami?
11. Do you spend much time at your National Park?
12. Do you use chromebooks or devices for your learning? If so, do you each have your own device?
13. How big is your school pool (we checked out your school on Google maps)
14. Does your school have strict rules?
15. Were you guys affected by the fires? Hope you are all okay!
16. Do you have a hall with a big stage?
17. Do you have a school camp or a trip coming up?
18. Do you have any mufti days?
19. What is the most popular sport at your school?
20. Do you think South Island is the best Island?
Thanks for your time - hope to hear from you soon. Looking forward to recieving your poems!

Write your own story - School Kit NZ
This term we have signed up to take part in a Get NZ Writing scheme where students will learn about amazing WOW words and use them to write their own anagram poem.
Our first step was to create a descriptive sentence about our 4 chosen colours then put them together to create 4 class colour poems for Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. This is just the first step so watch this space!
