Community Garden visit

This week we went to the Owairaka Community Garden to help weed, plant and build.
It was great to give back to our community and do our part for the garden.
Thank you so much to Heather and Trudy who organised and ran the visit and to our 2 awesome parent helpers, Kate and Mike.

Cook Island Language Week Activity

We had a great session with Hamida and Aunty Hayley on Friday where they taught us a little bit about the Cook Island traditions, language, musical instruments and etiquette when dancing - never let a lady dance alone!
Thank you so much lovely ladies for sharing your time and knowledge with us - we really enjoyed it!

Mt Everest picture

We are learning about Sir Edmund Hillary this week and have been discussing the difference between climbing the mountain back in 1953 and now. Here is the photo (first one) shared recently showing the long wait climbers have before them before reaching the summit. Hours of waiting. Crazy! What a difference from then to now.
