Kauri Team Home Learning
Kia Ora students and whānau,
Your Kauri team teachers have created a home learning site. Here is the link:https://sites.google.com/owairaka.school.nz/2020-home-learning/home
On this site there are a selection of learning activities that you can work on.
We suggest you do your learning for 1 - 2 hours each day, Monday to Friday.
An example of a daily timetable:
Online learning Apps - MUST DOS: 40 minutes
Writing - 30 mins (Remember good writers revisit their writing over many days)
Explorers of NZ and/or Ancient Egypt - 30 minutes
Rich Challenges - 20 minutes, these are long term projects to be done over several days.
Remember quality over quantity.
Blog Ponders - answer the blog ponders on the blog with quality comments. There will be
ponders added every Mon, Weds and Friday.
Once you have finished:
- Proofread your work
- Show it to someone at home to check
- Publish to your blog.
If you have any problems getting onto the online learning apps, please email your teacher.

Awesome places around us
We are taking part in the Writing Kit NZ activity where we are paired up with another school in NZ (Paremata School in Wellington) and we create a sistena poem that includes awesome places to visit and directions on how to reach them.

Garden to Table - the sushi edition
Another fantastic experience at Garden to Table today. Weather was not playing nice so after some initial garden time we made our way indoors to work on our 'ideal school garden' - check out the students blogs to see their amazing creations.
The kitchen group created a delicious meal of sushi, sesame beans and fruit pancakes. Success!

Ocean Explorer Visit
We were lucky enough to have a visit from the lovely Riley from Ocean Explorers today. She gave us a very informative and interesting talk about looking after our Hauraki Gulf.
