Production 2021 'Fresh and Smooth'

Our whole school production is over and what a blast it was! All the classes did an amazing job and students and teachers (and leadership) should be super proud of their efforts.

A big shout out to our very own Poppy who played the lead role Fresh and Samantha and Zac who also played the lead roles. Fantastic job!

Our class leads were Sakina (mama albatross) and Kezia (baby albatross) - awesome job. We did our class dance to Six60's Fade Away - everyone did an amazing job. Kapai.

Check out the slideshow of our photos and videos.

Caught being good certificates week 7

Production

Hi Room 6 tamariki and whanau.

A reminder that our school production 'Fresh and Smooth' is on next week - Tuesday 15th June 10am and 6pm and Wednesday 16th June 6pm.

There is a no ticket no entry policy due to fire restrictions so please make sure you have your preorganised ticket/s with you (they were handed out to students today).

Room 6 is doing a dance to Fade Away by Six60 and we are albatross. Students will need to wear black pants/shorts/tights and a white top (tshirt/shirt). They will have bare feet. Please make sure your child has their costume organised and named and leave it at school by Thursday (tomorrow) ready for dress rehearsal on Friday.

Looking forward to sharing our creativity with you soon!

Garden to Table week 6

Today I got to be in the kitchen which was a first for me! It was amazing seeing how talented all our tamariki are in the kitchen. Epic knife skills! Watch out Master Chef.

We even got to see a rainbow that ended in Owairaka Schools own field!!

Kaianga Ora Construction fun

We had the Kaianga Ora staff that work on the new housing around our school come in and show us a few of their cool toys!

There were big trucks, diggers, design, process and robot cameras! What a fun experience. Thanks to all the workers who gave up their time to come and show us how they work.

Gadren to Table w5 - Samoan Language Week

For week 5 we learnt a little bit about Samoan food for Samoan Language Week. Can you remember the names of the different type of Samoan food we ate? What was your favourite?

Samoan Language Week

This week was Samoan Language Week and we were lucky enough to have Hamida come in during our Buddy Class to teach us about the Samoan culture and make a pale fuiono (forehead band).

Big thank you to Hamida for giving up her time to teach us and to Sam and Rm 19 for letting us join in.

Comment with your thank you to Hamida and let us know what you have learnt about Samoa this week.
