This is the last home learning for 2021. We are officially on our summer holidays from tomorrow.
Thank you to you all for being awesome students. It has been my pleasure to teach you all.
I wish you all the best for your summer break. Year 6's, good luck at intermediate - be positive and make the most of all the opportunities available to you. Year 5's - i'll see you next year when it is your time to rule the school!

What an unexpected finish to our school year! I am glad we at least got to spend that 3 weeks together in the classroom. It has been a pleasure teaching you this year (some of you for 2 years!)

Today is our last learning task and Meet for the week as Friday is a Teacher Only Day.
Today's activity is to make a December Kindness Calendar! Make sure you make the acts small and manageable - it can be as simple as smile at someone to make them smile, do the dishes, make your siblings bed or make your parent/guardian breakfast in bed! Have fun with it - but remember the challenge is for you to actually do each act every day of December!

Here is the novel ponder for week 9. We are nearly at the end of the book. I hope you have been keeping up! It is a really great book. Make sure you check out the recorded readings of Mr Greenfield for chapters 7-10 that I shared with you (or you can go onto the R25 blog to find them)
Your extra challenge is a bit of information about how the eyes can be 'tricked' to see different things and explains how we 'see' different colours. Very cool.

Here is your P4C ponder and a little extra challenge.
How is your Choice Board activities going? Remember we want your best possible work with lots of time and effort put into it! We want to know what you did, how you did it, what you learnt etc. Use information, pictures and video to show the whole process.
How are your times tables going? Keep practising them. Your goal is to know them all confidently by the end of term 4.
Extra Challenge: Take a tour around the British Museum - this is pretty cool! Discuss the questions with one of your household members.

We have finished our volcano unit now so are moving on to some different learning. At our Meets we will be focusing more on Maths and for your Home Learning tasks you will have options to choose from on the Choice Board.
We will discuss it more at our Google Meet today. Over the next 2 weeks you will pick 2 or more options from the Choice Board and share your final products on your blog.
We are looking for top quality, thorough work - not rushed and half done. Think lots of information, lots of detail and lots of visual supports.
Several of the activities have supporting examples and/or templates for you to use. Click on the link and make a copy. Don't forget to put it in your Home Learning Folder!

I bet you were as surprised as I was to find out that we are back in Covid Level 4 for the next 7 days! Don't worry, keep positive and use this time to connect with your family.
In week 10 Term 2 we were unable to have our assembly and give out the certificates for that week. So here are our deserved winners - Tui and Leo. Thanks for being such great role models. Keep up the great work!
For the next 5 Monday's we have Music with the talented Mal. We are learning to make some noise! Musically of course.
We had our first session with Sara for the Owai Art Project. We explored different patterns using blocks, magnetic shapes and hoola hoop circles. We can't wait to get involved in the next steps. Thanks Sara and Rose for organising.
