Day 1
What a fantastic start to the year! Thanks to Mrs Johns awesome contacts we had our carpark filled with olden day cars which transported us back in time.
This was a great hook for our students to get started on the Whakatomene theme for the year which means Explorers and Adventurers - Past, Present and Future.

ReplyDeleteTalofa my name is Bitner and I am in Rm 6. I really liked the first day of school because we got to see all these olden day cars that looked beautiful. My favourite car was the White one with no roof because on hot summer days you can just drive around with your hair flowing with the wind. What was your favourite car.

ReplyDeleteHi, its me again, Liam did you know that some of these cars are 90 years old? That is as old as Owairaka School.
ReplyDeleteOn some of them we were allowed to actually hop into the car! We were not allowed to go riding in them.

Hi my name is Ryan. I am from room 6.
ReplyDeleteThis is on the first day of school. It was kind of like a treaser hunt. So me and Liam had to find Helen's car. Helen's car is a yellow small car.so some of the school came. A lot of kids were beeping the horn. So we had to find old cars in the parking lot.
Hi. This was one of the best first days ever. Because we got to go in old fashion cars. And they are very expensive nowadays.

ReplyDeleteI really liked seeing the cars and also learning a little history behind them and what they were like in the olden days. Most of them were in about in the 1950's and 1800's.I was also nervous on the 1st day of school and seeing what the class will be like.
Which car did you like and were you also nervous???

ReplyDeleteOn the first day the class walked to the teachers car park to find old cars from the past! We had to find out some question based on the car. In some of the cars we were either allowed to sit in them or beep the horn! It was fun, how about you?!
