Buddy Class Art with Room 6

It was great starting our buddy class sessions with Room 6 with a geometric shapes art activity. It was great seeing the Year 5/6 and  Year 3/4 students working so well together and getting into the spirit of 'buddying up'. We are really looking forward to the next activity together.

Room 22's first Garden to Table!

Thanks to our awesome teachers and helpers for the Garden to Table experience. We had an awesome feed of Corn Fritters with Spanish Bean Salsa and Yogurt Dressing, Nom Nom Nom.

School Focus: Be Organised

We had a great 2 weeks focusing on manners at Owairaka School with lots of children displaying great manners to their peers and teachers.
Our next focus is 'Being Organised'.

Creative Writing

Room 22 were given the task to choose one of several  picture options and write a factual, descriptive and thought sentence about it. Then students who picked the same picture gathered together to create a visual poster using the picture and all the sentences they had written.
They then presented the poster to the other students, reading out their sentences in a creative way. Here are some pictures...

Congratulations to Melbourne and Olivia!

Big congratulations to Melbourne and Olivia for winning this weeks 'Manners Award'. 

Both students have shown exceptional manners this week by being super helpful to their peers, always being on task and speaking kindly to everyone. Congratulations guys - well deserved!

The school year has begun...

It has been a great start to 2016 in Room 22! 

The students are really eager to learn and have been super helpful showing me the ropes and helping me settle in to Owairaka District School. Looking forward to a great year ahead with this awesome bunch...
