Today we had our Duffy assembly with the awesome carttonis Michel Mulipola. Big thank you to Sakina, Jessica and Brianna who designed and created Room 6's Duffy box based on The Tui Street Tales book we are reading. Awesome work!!

Michel is a Samoan comic book artist based in Auckland. In 2006 he received the Gibson Award for Best NZ Comic Book Artist as well as a Grand Finalist in the 2013 Secret Walls x Aotearoa Live Art Battles. He is currently working on the American graphic novel, ‘Headlocked: The Last Territory’. He has also contributed work for the New Zealand School Journals, the Pasifika Heroes series of books, illustrated Marvel Comics trading cards and comic books for the WWE. When he is not drawing comics, Michel can be found 'working' at Arkham City Comics store in Auckland. Michel will present a slide show please have a projector/screen ready thank you.

Kia Ora Room 6 it is me Kezia and I love this post because I loved the assembly and the box that Sakina, Jessica and Brianna did. I remember when I went up and got the Duffy box. Was it hard to make the Duffy box?

Kia Ora Room 6. Poppy here and I really like the room 6 duffy book box! The Tui on the front is really detailed and realistic. The assembly was really interesting and cool. If I had a chance to ask him a question, I would ask him: Out of all the comics you've made, what was your most popular? Blog you later, Poppy.

Hi Miss O'Shea Sakina here. I really enjoyed making the box it was fun but I think I just need to catch up on my blog blast and that's it. I really liked the assembly too it was interesting my favorite part was when Micheal pretended the box was heavy and I knew it was not. What was your favorite part? Blog ya later, Sakina.

ReplyDeleteI think that Sakina,Jessica and Brianna did a good job on recreating the front cover of Tui street tales onto our Duffy box.I am also really impressed with Michael drawings and how he actually designed his wrestler mask himself.
