Check out the awesome art we made for sea/green week with our buddy class. We dyed coffee filters then made a sea creature shape, coloured it in with crayon then painted it black over the top. Once it was dry we scratched out a pattern and stuck it on the coffee filter.
On the windows the sun hits the artwork and shines through making the dark silohuette stand out.
On Monday we had Steve from 'Young Ocean Explorers' come and talk to us about some of his amazing adventures videoing and photographing sea creatures all around the world. Here is a quick snippet of some videos he showed us. Check out the oohing and aahing from all our Owairaka students!
We have been working with the swimming instructors twice a week and have started picking up some great skills. Check out the picture video of our instructor time and the video of us safely entering the pool.
We were lucky enough to have a couple of Warriors players talk to us about how important it is to drink water, sleep lots and stay fit and healthy in order to live a positive and long life.
Lots of students won bags/wrist bands and even rugby balls.
We had our first session of Chapter Chat on Friday and had a great time sharing our work on Twitter. We are really enjoying reading 'There's a boy in the girls bathroom' by Louis Sacher and can't wait to share our next lot of activities.
Check out some of the work we have done:
