Cook Island Language Week

Kia Orana. This week we have been celebrating Cook Island Language Week. We were lucky enough to have Hamida come in and teach us some basic phrases and some awesome dance moves. Thanks so much Hamida we really loved it!

Check out the video below:

Here is a slideshow with some quick videos to help practise Cook Island Maori phrases. Enjoy!

  1. Hi i'm Kosha from room 8,

We also learned a lot about the Cook Islands Maori language too. I really liked your dancing you did it better then me! I really enjoyed your pictures and how clear I can read the font and color.

  2. Kia Ora, my name is Alyzae from Room 25. I really liked your Cook Island language week post because you added a lot of information including a video. I remember when Hamida and Jadarose came and taught Room 25. They taught the boys a Cook Island boy dance and taught the girls how to hula. Maybe next time you should add a video of your class having a Cook Island conversation. Has anyone in your class done a Cook Island performance before?

    Thanks for sharing your learning.
