Tongan Language Week

  1. Malo e leli Zion-li from Room 6. What I learned about Tonga is that it is a beautiful place it is very talented country and it and Tonga has 106,600 people I really like the dances they do and the language they speak. What did you learn?? Blog ya later!!

  2. Hi Miss O'Shea Sakina here. I really loved all the videos. My favorite video is probably the kids trying Tongan food and what I learnt was different type of food names and how they capture animals to eat from the ocean. Whats your favorite one? blog ya later

  5. Hi class, Liam here I learned a lot more about the Tongan culture and dances through polyfest, and I also learned how to say some of the months in the week in Tongan, Sanuali is January, fepueli is February, ma'asi is March.
    Do you know how say them all in Tongan?

  9. Hey there, Bitner here. Did you know that Tonga has a disappearing Island called Fonuafo’ou? And did you know that Tonga has Whales that travel over 3000 miles just to breed and give birth in Tonga? If you had one island disappearing, would you evacuate the Island?

    Something interesting I learned was that they had values because I thought that they were a free country so they had their own rules in each family and they did their own things but as a whole country they have values which really makes me proud as an
    islander.

    Something interesting that I learned during Tonga Language Week is that some Tongan food is good and some not so good. And that the way you pronounce some of the food the kids think it's a swear word.

  17. Hi Michael here and what I learnt was colours so pink in Tongan is lanupingiki and white in Tongan is hinehina or grey in Tongan is kulei. What Togan coulors do you know?. Lose e.

    I learnt quite a bit from it and my favorite was the "one week to learn tongan" video.
    Unfortunately most of the videos were blocked by the school account restrictions.
